Join Scenic Aperture for a thrilling Yellowstone Photography Workshop! This workshop will be lead by Frank Comisar, an internationally collected nature photographer from Durango, Colorado. The workshop will be based in Gardiner, MT and begins just as the Park experiences its springtime awakening.
Yellowstone National Park is home to stunning scenery and abundant wildlife. It also is an increasingly important sanctuary for the largest concentration of wildlife in the lower forty-eight states. The greater Yellowstone ecosystem is one of the best places to photograph iconic American landscapes and big mammals; springtime is the best time to photograph bears with cubs.
Yellowstone Photography Workshop
This Yellowstone Photography Workshop is offered to photographers with intermediate to advanced photography skills. This workshop is NOT for beginners. It is limited to just six participants.
Wildlife
Wildlife is awakening and at its peak of activity this time of year. Our primary subject matter will be wildlife. Specifically, bears with cubs; both black bears and grizzlies. In addition to bears with cubs, we are likely to have a number other wildlife opportunities such as calving bison, elk, pronghorn, moose, big horn sheep, coyotes, foxes, eagles, deer, and wolves.
Landscapes
Although it is undeniable that Yellowstone offers some of the best wildlife photography in North America, no self-respecting photographer can ignore its incredible landscapes. Therefore during our workshop we will allocate time to shoot some of Yellowstone’s impressive landscapes.
Lodging
Lodging (single occupancy) is included in the price of the workshop.
Our workshop will be based in Gardiner, MT. Our lodge is located on the banks of the Yellowstone River, 10 miles north of Gardiner, Montana–the oldest entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The lodge is 4,300 square feet, with seven bedrooms, three full bathrooms, a large dining room, full kitchen, large family room with stone fireplace downstairs and a large living room with stone fireplace upstairs. There are two decks, one overlooking the Yellowstone River and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
