Scenic Aperture’s Colorado fall color photography workshop will be the highlight of your year! Join us for this colorful workshop in the spectacular San Juan mountains of Southwest Colorado. Hone your landscape photography skills with Frank Comisar, an award winning photographer and Scenic Aperture’s founder.
The San Juans are famous for their rugged beauty and magnificent aspen groves. Each fall, those aspens turn a spectacular iridescent yellow which, combined with blue skies and snow capped mountains, makes this a landscape photographer’s paradise. Join us as we travel the area’s back roads to shoot grand vistas, towering aspens, vast mountain meadows, and alpine lakes. This Colorado fall color photography workshop will be based in Ouray, Colorado.
This is THE best place to shoot fall colors in North America!
From Durango, Ouray, and Telluride, Frank has been exploring southwest Colorado for years. Frank will get you to the right place at the right time to capture stunning photographs of this amazing landscape at the peak of fall color. If we’re lucky, we may experience an early dusting of snow which makes the yellow aspens even more dramatic. To take advantage of such opportunities, our itinerary will be flexible to make the most of changing weather and lighting conditions. Join Frank to visit his favorite locations and learn advanced techniques of landscape photography and digital post-processing. Sign up now!
Special Note: During this workshop we carpool to and from our photo shoots on gravel and dirt roads. Some of these roads are rough and bumpy. In wet weather they can be muddy and a little slick. Therefore, we recommend SUVs (AWD or 4WD preferred but not required) for getting to and from photo shoots. Off-road driving skills are NOT required. Special tires, suspension, and high clearance features are NOT required. Please notify Scenic Aperture at time of registration if you do not have a suitable vehicle so we can make carpool arrangements for you.
